Kheer Bhawani – Know Your Motherland

Known widely as Kheer Bhawani and Ragnya Asthapana, Tullamul is situated 27 Kms. north of Srinagar, in Gandherbal Tehsil. It is said that Mata Ragnya came to Kashmir during the times of Ramayana. The holy spring of Tullamul is situated on the bank of a branch of river Sindh, called, according to Nilamat Purana, Tsandara Baga. It is approachable both by road and by river.

Martand Sun Temple – Know Your Motherland

The temple of Martand is situated at a distance of 5 miles from the town of Anantnag. Like most medievel temples in Kashmir, Martand consists of a courtyard with the principal shrine in the middle and a colonnaded peristyle. Gangabal Lake – Know Your Motherland

Gangabal Lake (Lat: 34.4333, Long: 74.925) is situated at the foot of the north-eastern glacier of Mount Harmukh, at an altitude of about 3570 Meters (Francis Brunel, the author of ‘Kashmir’ puts the altitude at 3657 Meters). It is said to be the true source of Kashmir Ganga and is hence known as ‘Uttarganga’. It is the final goal of great ‘Haramuktaganga’ pilgrimage.
